Grant Program Promotes Recycling at Local Organizations

The Montgomery County Solid Waste District is now accepting applications for the 2018 Recycling Incentive Grant Program, which provides up to $250,000 in funding to local municipalities, schools and non-profit organizations for projects that promote recycling and litter prevention. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2018.

“These grants are a great opportunity for local organizations to initiate recycling and litter prevention projects that continue to enhance the community and the environment.” said Debbie Lieberman, president of the Montgomery County Board of County Commissioners.

Grants will be awarded to projects focused on the following five areas: recycling, waste reduction, litter prevention, composting opportunities and end use markets of recycled materials. The Recycling Incentive Grant Program is open on a competitive basis to all Montgomery County municipalities, schools and select non-profit organizations. An endorsement letter is required for schools and non-profits from their local jurisdiction.

Interested applicants must attend a mandatory briefing session at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2018. The session will be held at 2550 Sandridge Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45439. Grant recipients will be announced in May 2018.
