17th Annual Brother Raymond L. Fitz Award Recipient Announced

On Friday, March 10, 2017, the Montgomery County Family and Children First Council will recognize Stephen Geib at the 17th Annual Brother Raymond L. Fitz Award Luncheon.  This prominent event will be held from 11:30 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. at Top of the Market in downtown Dayton.
Stephen Geib is a highly accomplished, non-profit visionary with more than 30 years experience providing high-quality foster care, adoption and reunification services for children, adolescents, young adults, and additional programs and services for families. He currently serves as Executive Director of Agape for Youth.

Stephen is a licensed social worker in the state of Ohio, a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Social Work, and the Recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Career Alumni Hall of Fame Award from The Ohio State University College of Social Work.  He is a member of the Ohio Association of Child Caring Agencies, the Ohio Association of Non-Profit Organizations, the National Association of Christian Social Workers, the Ohio State University Alumni Society, the OSU College of Social Work Alumni Society, and the Dayton Rotary.
His volunteer and board participation has included serving on the Warren and Clinton County Mental Health Recovery Board, and a member of the Board of Directors of the BJ Kids 91 Foundation.  Stephen has been a volunteer for the LLS Man and Woman of the Year campaigns, the March of Dimes Chef Auction, the BJ Kids 91 Cutoff, Rotary Reads, the NACSW National Conference Committee and the Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Awards Committee.  
Stephen is married to Sandie, his wife of nearly 33 years, and is the proud father of three grown children, all married: Stephen (Sytease), Emily (Ben) and Kaitlyn (Jason) and is “Pop-Pop” to Kaiden and Oliver.
17th Annual Brother Raymond L. Fitz, S.M., Ph.D. Award
The Brother Raymond L. Fitz Award honors someone who exemplifies Brother Ray’s dedication to nurturing and protecting children and families by his or her daily efforts in the community.  The Montgomery County Family and Children First Council serves as the lead human services collaborative addressing issues that affect children and families across the county.  The Council established the award to honor Raymond L. Fitz, former president of the University of Dayton, and first Chair of the Family & Children First Council, for his years of leadership and service to the community.
