The Montgomery County Solid Waste District, a division of Montgomery County Environmental Services, is now accepting applications for the 2019 Beautification Grant program to promote volunteerism and community beautification in Montgomery County. The grants are offered through Keep Montgomery County Beautiful (KMCB).
KMCB funds up to $1,000 per project, and graffiti abatement and community garden projects are eligible for funding. KMCB funded 25 projects in 2018.
The grant application rating criteria include the use of native and drought-tolerant plants, maintenance and sustainability, and community and volunteer involvement. Youth involvement is highly encouraged. Further rating criteria is outlined in the grant application.

The Montgomery County Solid Waste District established the KMCB Beautification Grant in 2010. Since inception, the grant program has provided nearly $128,000 in funding to 189 projects throughout Montgomery County.
