Matt Hilliard has been selected to permanently fill the role of Director of Environmental Services. His selection was confirmed during Tuesday’s Board of County Commission meeting.
“In the time that Matt has served as the Interim Director, we have been impressed by his work ethic and ability to bring diverse people together to solve problems. We know that he will continue to serve with integrity and positivity in this leadership role,” said Michael Colbert, County Administrator.
Matt Hilliard served as Environmental Services Interim Director for more than two months. He is no stranger to the Department. Matt has been with Montgomery County for 16 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to this leadership position.
“I am honored to have been selected to permanently fill this position. I will continue and build upon the successes the department has had and look forward to the challenges and taking care of my team,” Matt said.
Matt is a graduate of Ohio University. He has a well-rounded background in the department’s overall operations, including customer services, engineering, Geographical Information System (GIS), IT, strategic planning, performance management, and asset management.
“Environmental Services is one of the critical divisions within the county that touches every resident in some capacity. I am pleased to see Matt grow into this position and bring his fresh ideas to the table,” said Montgomery County Commission President Judy Dodge. “His experience within the department and with the county as a whole makes him a unique employee and I have absolute faith in his ability to lead the team.”
