April is National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month and National Autism Awareness Month.

April is National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

Child abuse and neglect are problems that confront every community in Montgomery County. In fact, in the past few years we have averaged more than 3,500 investigations into abuse and neglect claims.

During this month, we bring attention to organizations such as Ohio Children’s Trust Fund which provides resources to strengthen families in an effort to prevent child abuse and neglect.

April is also National Autism Awareness Month.

According to the National Autism Association, Autism affects 1 in 59 children.

During this month, we bring attention to organizations such as Autism Society – Dayton Chapter, which seeks to create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential.
